"And these MIFs, they appear promising as we try to repurpose content. When are they used?" I don�t know about anybody else, but for me they�re invaluable. I save my FrameMaker files as MIFs, which can be opened/edited in FrameMaker just as though they were native FrameMaker files AND they can be opened/edited as text using any text editor (Word, Notepad, etc.). This makes it infinitely easier to manipulate the data by using custom scripts. For instance, we convert our multi-file FrameMaker books to a fully-parseable SGML instance (through the use of extensive complicated scripts, of course) which read the MIFs.
