In reply to Thomas Michanek, messages 36 and 62 I think it would be wise to phrase your viewpoint in tentative terms for two reasons. 1. Persuasion Human beings are intelligent, creative, emotional, spontaneous animals. (Ive met a few, so I speak from personal experience.) You cant discount the power of persuasion when communicating with a human being. If Adobe were run by robots, it would be reasonable to hold little hope in the power of persuasion. But Adobe isnt run by robots. I meanwell. Come to think of it, does anyone know? 2. Hope Were not dreamy-eyed idealists unconnected with the reality of competitive commerce. But its important, just the same, not to lose hope in pursuing a goal simply on the statements of naysayers. If naysayers carried the day, nothing surprising would ever be achieved by the human race. Conclusion For FM users who wish to attempt to motivate Adobe, I encourage you not to lose hope but to take some action that you feel would be appropriate. I suggest that someone start acquiring email addresses of interested users who wish to attempt to motivate Adobe. You could start a thread for this project, using it to solicit email addresses of interested people by posting an email address to contact. If the movement gains momentum, you could use the thread to post relevant information. Keep in mind that even Thomas Michanek suggests that if a group represents a sufficiently large number of users, Adobe will listen. The web is the perfect way to obtain the support of a group of otherwise unconnected users. In the end, you could not only collect signatures, write letters, etc., you could also attempt to arrange a meeting of a number of your group and appropriate people at Adobe. You cant discount the persuasive power of a face-to-face meeting with people who have substantial influence in these matters at Adobe. In requesting such a meeting, the more backers you have for such a request, the more likely the relevant people at Adobe will be willing to meet with you.
