Thanks for all the help, folks. The cells were not spanned in Word or created in Excel and pasted into Word. The conversion from table to table-delimited text to table worked fine, Sean, so for now, that's what I'll do. We're thinking about upgrading to Frame 7, but so far, the reviews have not impressed us very much, so we're holding off. If Frame 7 does handle importing tables well, however, it might be reason enough to buy the upgrade.
