Is this a brand new install, or had you been using FM previously?

FM is normally very, very stable so I would suspect either a faulty install (if it was new) or some other app has clobbered something critical to FM. Have you installed any new hardware or software recently?

I'd use the Windows Add/Remove programs to uninstall FM, then reinstall it.
