We have asked the powers that be in my company for several years to upgrade to a newer version of Acrobat but they have not considered this a high priority. One problem we have already run into is that Acrobat 3.0x will not work with Windows 2000. 

The PDF files have to be Acrobat 2.1-compatible because the program that creates our documentation CD was written several years ago. Maybe they'll rewrite the program that does this, but for now, I'm SOL and stuck with Acrobat 3.0x. 

Anyway, the PC I'm using has Win NT. I don't know why the Distiller printer went away--someone must have removed it. I solved this problem by sharing the Distiller printer I had set up on the PC that has Windows 2000. 

I printed to the Distiller printer and distilled the .ps file. The PDF now has the correct colors and links, but now I get the error messages in the Distiller window that say "%%[Page number}%%" and most of the text is jumbled. This happens when I try both methods of saving ("Saving as PDF" and printing to the Distiller). From what I can tell, it only occurs when the Times New Roman font is occurring. I think I took 1 step forward and 2 steps back. 

What do you think I should do next?
