Folks,

I have three fairly similar manuals in progress, each about 300 pages. When I pdf them from FM 6 on W2000, using the Acrobat 5 distiller with no changes between runs except they are in watched folders, I get varied results.

Two of them that differ by only one block diagram and maybe 20 text words, do what I expect: the left pdf pane shows four section names, four appendix names, each with a plus box, and the index; but doesn't show the tables of contents, figures, or tables, although I can scroll up into them. Click on a plus box and the section or appendix expands just like Windows Explorer. All the page numbers hyperlink in those tables, in the index, and throughout the manual. Great, just what I want. All the pdfs I've done do just this.

The third one, and naturally the one with the earliest due date, does different. The left pane starts with the expanded table of contents, then, in the usual form with Plus boxes, Sections 1 - 4, three appendices, and the Index. Everything hyperlinks, but I cannot reduce the table of contents to a plus box, and the other tables don't show at all.

Suggestions greatly appreciated.
