Rick and Tim,

I ran another simple test: I typed a line of text and applied the Heading paratag to it. The Heading tag is set to small caps. Then, in the same document, I created a cross-ref from that heading. The cross-ref came in with initial caps only, the way I typed the Heading line.

Then I changed the Heading tag so that it uses Initial Caps, but I applied a character tag to one of the words. That character tag did not come through in the cross-ref. (This is all in the same document, so the same character tags are available for the cross-ref, too.)

I enjoy the testing, but it would be nice if M Howes would return to the forum and let us know if we're on the right track.

Jeanie
