FrameMaker registration marks are implemented as multi-segment polygons (instead of circles). With higher Adobe PS driver resolutions, more segments are generated, further increasing file size. Instead of specifying crop marks in FrameMaker, consider adding the crop marks in Acrobat: Advanced > Print Production > Add Printer Marks (available in Acrobat Professional 7[?] or later) Otherwise, you can experiment with lowering the driver resolution (if this applies to your output), for example to 1200 dpi.
