Asking a diagnostic question doesn't imply either that the problem isn't a bug OR that the bug shouldn't be fixed. Although I'm impressed that you're able to intuitively know that your problem is the same as Pat's, I don't have that level of psychic ability yet, so I have to ask what appears to you to be a rhetorical question.

And it is a bug, it's unlikely to be fixed because it's being reported in a release that's not the current release. Adobe, as far as I know, has never done sustaining work on old releases -- they only patch releases that aren't current.
