The BitsduJour website <http://www.bitsdujour.com> has a half-price offer (just for today, Feb 2/09) on "Screen Calipers" by Iconico (parent of BitsduJour) <http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/screen-calipers/>

Not sure if the offer might only be for Windows, although one of the screenshots shows an Apple logo.

I haven't tried this app, but it does look very interesting.
