I am interested in using Microsoft Windows Group Policy and Active Directory Services to install Frame maker on assigned work stations. I found a white paper (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/gpo_ad_8.pdf)that describes how to do this with Adobe Acrobat 8, but it does not work with Framemaker 8. I also found a tech note (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403296&sliceId=1) that describes how to silently install Framemaker 8 but cannot seem to get that to work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rob

Adobe Tech Support, such as it is, provides free installation support. Did you contact them yet? Art

Art, Yes I have contacted them. Their response was, "We don't support this type of question without a support contract." While I don't mind purchasing a support contract, they could not even tell me if the support contract would cover my needs.

Hi, Robert: I suggest you contact tech support again and ask for a supervisor or manager. If a technician refuses to support an installation problem - especially a method that's described in an Adobe tech note - it's probably due to a poorly-trained or poorly-informed technician. If the first supervisor or manager can't or won't help, insist on escalating to the highest-level manager. HTH ________________ Regards, Peter Gold KnowHow ProServices

Another possible source of user-support (with a slightly more diverse audience than our forum here) would be to post your question on the Framers list, at <http://www.frameusers.com>
