Bullets showing up in TOC

I am using FM8.0p277, I created an unstructured book, and added the TOC. When I look at the TOC, there seems to be bullets showing up in front of some of the heading2TOC and heading3TOC lines - not all of them, though. I have looked at the reference page, and I can't see anything different between those that are bulleted and those that are NOT. I looked at the body page, and looked at the paragraph designer for the heading2TOC and heading3TOC that are making bullets and those that are not, and again could not see any differences. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you zoom up to 800% or even higher, do the mystery symbols still look like bullets?
