Hello, I have a cross-reference problem that I can't resolve. We used to use the following style for cross-references: <Emphasis><$paratext> <Default Font><Blue>on page <$pagenum> We changed the cross-reference style as follows: <Emphasis><Blue><$paratext> <Default Font><Blue>on page <$pagenum> In other words, the old style had black italicized text for the heading and blue non-italicized text for the page number. What I want is for the whole cross-reference to be blue with italics on the heading portion only. When I apply the preceding style to a cross-reference manually, everything is fine. But when I update the book, it wipes out the italics, leaving plain blue text. If I swap the <Blue> and <Emphasis> tags, thusly: <Blue><Emphasis><$paratext> <Default Font><Blue>on page <$pagenum> I get italics on the whole string and blue on the "on page #" portion only. I can re-import the x-ref style from my template, but it only fixes x-refs that are local to the chapter. Any x-ref to a different chapter seems to revert back to the old x-ref style [black italic for the heading, blue non-italic for the page number]. I've gone around and around with this and I cannot figure out how to get the new style to stick. Manually fixing the cross-reference every time we update our books is not acceptable given the page counts of some of our larger documents. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Do you have a permanent fix? Thanks, Lisa
