I am running Framemaker 8.0p277. When I generate or update the TOC for my book, the chapter title shows up at the end of the Heading1s and Heading2s that are present on the first page. All is fine if there are no headings on the first page. I've tried taking out the ChapterTitle tag and regenerating the list, but it doesn't help. Any advice? Cindy

It sounds like the chapter title is in a separate flow, or in an anchored frame or table. If so, the order would be as you are seeing, because the way FM generates TOCs. FM takes the content of the page's Flow A before any other content inside other flows, tables, etc.

That's what I thought, too, when it kept happening over and over again. Now the question is: How do I fix the flow of the frames? Can this action be performed on existing documents? Thanks!

Does your first page have separately named text flows? If you turn on View > Text Symbols, then place your cursor at the end of the title, can you use the arrow keys to move down to the first text after that (no matter what paragraph type) and keep on going? Or, alternatively, do you see the end-of-flow symbol at the end of the title and thus the cursor won't move out of the frame? Another way to verify is on the body page, hold Clt and click on a text frame, then right-click and go to Object Properties. What setting does each frame have for "Tag" and Autoconnect?
