I've searched the forums and haven't had too much luck finding out if there's any way for FM (I'm using FM9 p196 with the new TCS 2) to better identify marker tags of varying types (like index, cross-reference, and custom Context Sensitive Help ones) with a Character format that makes them stand out for easier identification. Just turning on the View > Text Symbols only shows you the marker "T's" in the same font and colour as your content text. They also tend to run into punctuation and paragraph marks which obscures the marker tag. I've only run across one method for making these markers "pop out" visually: create custom Character formats and then manually apply them to the marker types you desire using either a Find/Replace or after the marker has been inserted. What I'd like to find out is if anyone has discovered a better way to accomplish this or if Adobe has somehow built this into the new version 9 of FM (and I just haven't found out how to do it).

Jeff, if you haven't yet done so, you might want to consider posting your question on the Framers list, at <http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/listinfo/framers> I doubt that there would be any such colorization capability, as it seems like multiple side-by-side markers, even if colored, would still be displayed as a "multi-colored blob". As an alternative, have you considered any of the 3rd party tools that are built for working with markers? There's a great FM tools list at <http://www.leximation.com> Sheila

In FM9.0, You can invoke Marker POD using View->Pods->Markers to get a list of markers in your document. You can sort the list by Marker Type column by clicking on the column name. Refer to page 20 of user guide. Regards, Megha Adobe
