I am using Framemaker 8.0 (Windows XP sp2) with colour graphics imported into Doc B (each doc is one page). I then import the Framemaker files into Doc A (multiple pages). When I print Doc A from Framemaker 8.0 they look fine, when I convert to a pdf the graphics which are shades of brown convert to one constant brown colour over the entire image. I used to use Framemaker 7 but just upgraded to Framemaker 8.0. In Framemaker 7.0 this all worked fine. I have tried using the PDF Printer instance or the Save as PDF in Framemaker 8.0 but I get the same result of one constant brown colour across all coloured areas instead of various shades. Any suggestions?

Derek, This is not a direct answer to your question. What format are the graphics in? If you use EPS, then the color information is in the graphic is ignored by Frame and passed through to Distiller when making the PDF. This gives you more control over the color because Frame does nothing with it. If Frame has any control over the color, it converts it all to RGB without color management. Also, try opening one page in the PDF using Photoshop. And then check the colors there, to make sure they really are the same. You might also try playing with the color management settings in the Distiller job options. I do not use color management, so cannot make useful suggestions of what settings to change. Good luck, Van
