Print Paragraph / Character tag information

Hi everyone!

I'm wondering if there is a way (or utility) to print out the settings for each Paragraph and Character tag used in a Frame book or chapter.

I have a requirement to document this type of information and would prefer to have a generated list rather than having to go through each in the Paragraph and Character Designers.

Any ideas?

Cheers and thanks!

There are a couple of ways to do this.

Check the tool search list at <http://www.leximation.com> you'll find a couple of different ones, freebie and paid.

Another freebie is called "MIF Muncher"; the basic idea is that you save your files as MIF and then run the script. You'll have to do some googling to find it, though, as it's a bit grey-bearded by now.

Brian:

See the Paragraph Tools entry on this page:

 <http://www.siliconprairiesoftware.com/Products.html>

It, and its fraternal twin Character Tools, perform a variety of useful operations, all for the staggering sum of US$10 per package...

Cheers & hope this helps,
Riley

For listing paragraph formats, an even better choice than MIF Muncher or the Silicon Prairie tools (though the SP tools are must-haves for many other reasons) is Format List, part of Systec's Toolbox. Format List is better because it creates a single table of the formats, with nearly all of the options in easy-to-compare columns. The other two plugins create a separate table for each format. Comparing them is a pain. You can have pages spread all over. With FormatList, merely run your eye down the columns. You can quickly spot the format that has Arial set instead of Franklin Gothic, for example.

Here's the link to download Toolbox, which is a collection of programs. They all install. Some are free for perpetual use. Some are trials that expire in 30 days, but you purchase licenses to continue to use them:

<http://www.systec-gmbh.com/en/sites/downloads_tk.php#>

You can buy licenses for bundles of programs or individual programs.

Here's the link for buying licenses:

The Systec Toolbox tools are great, but the Systec site is a real bear to navigate.

And, last but not least, thanks to Scott Prentice, there's a good FM tools search mechanism on <http://www.leximation.com>
