hi folks,

ive edit all files, add them into my golive site and create a blobphotos table with phpMyadmin.

1. >> get an error when i want add a new text entry to the database.

< fieldset>< legend>Last Updated< /legend>
< ERROR Number="2" Description="Error: "date() [<a href='http://www.php.net/function.date <http://www.php.net/function.date>'>function.date</a>]: Unexpected error" on line 1211 of h:\projects\php\dev_projects\blobs\blobs ordner\blobs\config\include\utils.runtime6.php."/ >

ok, i remove the last updated fieldset from the pageitems.php so i can add text entrys to the database.

in the next step to add photo to the database i get error message on the pagesuccess site.

< ERROR Number="8" Description="Error: "Undefined variable: datasrc" on line 20 of h:\projects\php\dev_projects\blobs\blobs ordner\blobs\config\include\photofunctions.php."/ >

work on windows with the preconfigured webserver. ive make update to php 4.3.1 so the register_globals setting is off.

my other projects works whithout any problems after the php update........

2. >>
ive upload the blobphotos files to my production server (linux) to test it there.
there i have no problems.
I can make new text entrys and the photo upload and resize function works fine but the resized blobphotos images have only 256 colors....

would be nice if anybody can help because im not the php expert :-))

I'm going to guess it is a minor error in your code. Check to see that the database is having something entered into the last_mod field. If it is, then make sure that you have the field set to the correct value. Double check that GoLive has not altered a value, such as 'NOW()' - since we are adding foeign code, it continually tries to make the foreign code fit into what it thinks is right.

in the next step to add photo to the database i get error message on the
      pagesuccess site.

This one should be simple. Go to the top of the pages in question. When you make changes, GoLive has a tendency to remove the top include to the mysql_runtime6.php file.

resized blobphotos images have only 256 colors....

Go down into the discussion. In PHP 4.3.0 and above, this is a known problem. You are going to have to work with the code a bit, but there is a hint on what to do by:

office at 4point-webdesign dot com

-- it is about 1/2 of the way down the page.

None of the sites I have that use this are running a 4.3.0+ version of PHP and none of the current sites I've built on systems running on version of PHP 4.3.0+ have used this, so I've not tinkered with the code - I just have a note on what the problem is and where to find the solution when that day comes.

An that day is the end of next month when I move 3 of the sites I have that use this to a system running PHP 4.3.2!

Ola Jim,

thanx 4 the quick help!

The 256 colors problem ive fixed.

The date/time function works on linux without any probs. On windows i get this error only when ill make new entrys to the database. I think windows have a problem with the date 1970 which was show on new entrys. Ive put the "last update field" in a hide content container
and set it to hide if the the field "title" is empty :-) If u hv another workaround please let me know.

On my windows machine i still have the problem when i want add photos to the database

      ERROR Number="8" Description="Error: "Undefined variable: datasrc" >on
      line 20 of blobs\config\include\photofunctions.php.

I have check the code but im think its ok because the same files work on my linux producton server. The different is that on linux they have php4.3.0 with register_globals=on ....
Ive windows and php 4.3.1 with register_globals=off....

Maybe there is something to edit in the blobfunction or photofunction file. I had the same problem with the picture upload tutorial from the adobe site. Ive found some workarounds here on this board and edit some lines in the include/pictureupload.php

I have replace all existing $HTTP_POST_FILES by $_FILES and all $HTTP_POST_VARS by $_POST.
Ive also edit some lines like this $_position with $_POST['_position']....

and now it works with register_globals on and off setting........

Im new on create pages with dynamic content and php so im not sure if the problem is the same as in the pictureupload include but ill check it out this weekend.

Yes, you have to do that. Luckily it is just a bunch of search and replaces in most instances when going from one type of server to another with the register globals set properly, i.e. off.

I am probably going to be pretty hopeless when it comes with Windows. I have a development environment installed on my XP machine (MySQL, Apache 2, PHP, Zend Debugger) but I almost never use it: I do my work directly on either production or staging/test servers.

I wrote the blobupload specifically so that I, and others, would not have to mess around with filesystem permissions with file uploads: but there is that "/tmp" file that I reference, so that may be causing some problems: Windows has the Apache temp file for file uploads and also sessions some where else.
