I found very interesting a JET regard in a previous thread about a different request, and I'd like to recover the feature, if I may.

      I think it's all much ado about nothing. White pointer, black pointer;
      I'd rather just see a single gray pointer that does both as part of a
      much improved overall selection interface. <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b73193/7>

The select/direct select cursors- or black and white arrows- seems an standard in modern vector applications. However, I find using two tools for just one function ("selection") uncomfortable, especially when i'm drawing and switching with the pen(s) tool.

I'd prefer just ONE selection tool that adapts to what I'm selecting- like the one used in Aldus Freehand 3- One click select the path and allows transformation operations, etc.. Once selected, a click on an anchor point allows to modify the point or its handlers.

Wonder what other users feels- Do you guys find the two cursors more useful in your workflow?
