Why can't you do multiple imports of images in one go, like in InDesign? Or does someone know how to import more than one image at a time? That would be a great feature! Martin

Instead of using the Place command just drag the images from the Finder or Bridge into your Illy file. They will be linked unless you have the Caps Lock button held down, in which case they will be embedded.

I also ask why there are no options in the import does not always feel like we have the following place to open files or bridge? Many times I miss it.

I've always wondered why you couldn't do multiple import of images in Illustrator. There must be a reason why. You could do it in other programs like Freehand, Illustrator, and InDesign. Why not Illustrator?

:) I could not resist.
As Steve mentions, it is possible for multiple imports by dragging the objects in all at once.
With cap locks off and the shift key NOT pressed, the objects will be linked placed.
If cap locks are on or the shift key IS pressed, the objects will be embedded.
(as Steve already mentioned)

Yes, I did read what Steve wrote and noted that option of making multiple imports. I should have been more specific and I think this is what the original poster is asking for, which is to import or place via the menu bar. Most times it's just a hassle to do a drag and drop.

What Illustrator really needs is total rebuild of the Place command. If the requested feature were added, all you'd get as a result is a stack of the selescted images in the middle of the window at 100%. Hardly a time saver. It needs a real Place command that works like every other fracking graphics program on the planet. Actually what Illustrator really needs is a replacement.

I'm sorry to say, and there are many good ideas in Ai but when I switch from other Adobe programs like I would be back by 5 years back :( Ai as for me not to aim too high resistance trends to identify other programs eg Indd, Ps.
