No GIF export in Illustrator 10

I want to export an illustration as a GIF file. There is no GIF option given under Export. It was there in Illustrator 8. The GIF89a Format.aip file is present in the Plug-ins/Illustrator Formats - Standard folder. I have tried reinstalling Illustrator 10. Any reasons why the option won't show up?
