large picture as a website

I am new at imageready, but not photoshop. I have created a large
picture in photoshop (many layer groups/files) for my website/portfolio
site (I designed it to look like a "set design" in a matrix
environment). I have created many rollovers and animations in this
photo. I sliced the overall picture into selections that covered each
of the actions of the rollovers and animations in order to isolate the
activity to that slice (90 slices). My total photoshop file size is
approx 250mb. When I go to optimize the total project I get an
error/not enough memory available for optimizing to complete saving
action. My computer has 70gb with 20gb available/unused. What am I
doing wrong? Many of my rollovers activate gif photos, others activate
gif graphics, most of the site is sliced into inactive single gif
pictures which create the overall "big picture". I am trying to create
a "matrix" type visual that looks like a set design found on a tv
program, but as a website it has many interactive buttons and switches
to let the viewer explore my portfolio. Any help or info would be
appreciated. Thank you
