I have a nearly similar error using ImageReady CS2.

Unable to communicate with ImageReady. Please Try Again. (Error 4140)

Adobe support had me restart system with no other services running and use droplets/images from samples directory but still no solution. Then they told me to re-install completely...same problem.

Right now, they have no clue why I cannot use any ImageReady Droplets at all on my systems (2 completely different XP systems).

For the record, based on the error, it seems like Windows is preventing the droplet .exe file from talking to ImageReady, but I don't know how to figure a solution.

I'm so used to troubleshooting my own issues, but this one has me totally stumped.

Tech guy says that nobody else is having this problem...

I'm on a pretty vanilla setup here.
