Hi Don't know if the topic sums it up but I have this simple problem that I've been using now more than 24 hours on. I'm ready to jump on a fork. I have made a webdesign with some background elements and buttons and so on. The problem I'm facing is that I want a large background obscured by a few buttons to be one big slice. That is without the smaller buttons on top which should be slices themselves. I was thinking that I could just create my background slice, hide the relevant button layers, select the normal state, make the button layers visible again and then create the button slices but toggling the layer visibility while on a slice toggles the visibility on all slices I've made. Is it really not possible to do what I want somehow? I find it almost impossible to use IR for CSS based positioned web design.
