HI all,

I apologise first if this is the wrong NG, but I figure someone here is
bound to know what this is.

I recently accidentally emptied my entire photo collection folder from
the recycle bin (long story on another posting!) and I used a recover
utility to retrieve a fraction of them back.  However half of these
recovered files were OK, but the other half won't open, even though thet
are the right size in kb and have their .jpg extenstion.  Instead I get
this error message: "Not a JPEG file Starts with 0x47 0x49"

Is their any program that can repair this?  I have IrfanView and Ulead
PhotoImpact (shareware version) and I use Win98.  I noticed on IrfanView
it has a ASCII and Hex editor - is this of any use?
