Save Optimized=cannot GIF

Hello and thanks for looking at my question,

I am rather proficient making GIF animations from .psd files with ImageReady.
But I have noticed a somewhat random problem when saving optimized;
Sometimes I get a GIF option and other times there is only the HTML option. I need GIFs for my webpage. The GIF option (or lack thereof) seems to depend on the format (.jpg, .bmp) of the .psd layers themselves.

Can anyone tell me what causes this intermitent problem and what I can do to resolve it.

--Thanks!

Kensensei . . . Did this fix the problem for you. I'm having the same trouble with .gif files and wondered if you found a solution. Even when I choose GIF in the optimize palette, it still doesn't allow me to save as GIF in the Save As dialog box.
