Adjust fps??

I'm trying to save a simple animated gif and then import it into After Effects to work with it but it looks like the frame rate is getting all screwed up. When I bring it into AE, it's got the frame rate at 100fps. I'm working at 30fps. I couldn't find anywhere in IR to adjust the fps output.
This is frustrating since I only turned to AE when I was unable to import the gif into Premiere. I still don't know why. I've posted to other forums but no response. I was originally able to import the gif to Premiere but now it just opens the "Importing files" box and sits there. I don't care which app I use. Eventually it's all going into Premiere, but I just need to be able to work with this file or else I can't move to the next stuff. Please help! This is driving me crazy.....:<

Elorha,

An animated .gif doesn't have a frames/sec rating - it has individual
delays between frames. You can set the delay on a frame-by-frame basis
in a .gif so one frame can display for, say, 10 secs whilst the next
frame displays for only 0.1 secs.

I wonder if the original GIF is going out at 0 secs on the timing line?
The Gimp seems to give a warning of CPU masher when an IR GIF at 0 seconds per frame is exported so ...

Save the animation as individual .jpgs name them in number order (can be
done in bridge) save them in their own folder... When you go to import
them into AE, the program will ask if you want to import them all as...
