Hi, I'm working at a startup magazine, and we're considering using K4 with InCopy/InDesign. But we're a small operation, and K4 is very expensive. Are there workflow software systems out there that are aimed at smaller workgroups that people like? Thanks.

Jeremy, Yes there are.... You might consider a InCopy workflow utilizing just a shared directory as a start. That way you can determine how much of a tool you need before spending any money. Theres documentation on Adobes web site and included with InCopy on how to do that. Steve

Hey Jeremy, I was wondering if you'd find your way here. Really, the best thing to do is what Stephen just described. Start with the straight out of the box solution and see how it goes. Bob

Thanks. That's what we did at my last job and it worked out fine. What some people are worried about is the difficulty of archiving/versioning, as discussed here: <http://incopysecrets.com/versioning-stories-and-layouts.php>. It looks like a plug-in called History, by DTP Tools, attempts to address this. Anyone have experience with that?
