Is there a way to preserve a copy of all changes made to a design? Ideally be able to save in the form of a PDF for printing?

In InCopy you can export tracked changes markup to PDF from Story or Galley view. Does that help? AM

Thanks for the reply Anne-Marie, I tried your suggestion and it works great prior to "accept all changes". Is there a way to revert all changes post- save to do the export? Cheers, Danny

As soon as you accept or reject all the changes, it wipes out the track changes history. (That's kinda the point of accepting or rejecting them! heh). As long as you haven't closed the file or checked in the story, you can use the Edit > Undo command to resurrect all the changes, even if you've saved the file as you're working on it. Of course that will also undo any other changes you made after accepting/rejecting. So if you need to have a "live" version of the story with all its tracked changes markup, you'll need to duplicate the story file itself in your OS, saving the dupe to a special folder you maintain just for that purpose. I explain this more fully here: <http://incopysecrets.com/versioning-stories-part-2-editors-turn.php> AM

Thanks for pointing me to your informative article Ann-Marie. I'm not quite that versed in all the workings of InCopy but learning and trying to find work-arounds for my users to move them from hard copy based editing. We just finished a K4 pilot and I am suppose to be attending training. Cheers, Danny

Ah. Well you should get to training! LOL. As my article mentioned, the workarounds I'm describing are what those who *don't* have K4 or Smart Connection setups need to do. I'm pretty sure K4 has some sort of versioning and rollbacks built in. AM

I would suggest you to also take a look at CtrlChanges from Ctrl Publishing, a very nice tool for tracking changes. <http://www.ctrl-ps.com/products/ctrlchanges>
