Is your editor using the latest version if InCopy? Should be at v4.04 (not 4.0). Check the menu item About Adobe InCopy to see.

Can your editor create a new IC document in her PC, write in it, and save it, with no problems? Can you place that .incx file into ID without issue? Then check out the placed story, edit it and save it without issue?

If she can't even do this, then I'd suspect either a virus/malware as Bob suggests (is she running any antivirus/anti-malware utilities?) or damaged system fonts, perhaps.

If this is working fine, then next I would try a test with a dead-simple ID file (one page, one text frame, one word in the text frame with no formatting other than Basic Paragraph) that you create for her, exporting the story to IC. See if that works okay.
