IDCS3 V5.0.3, WinXP I'm running IDCS3, but still have InCopy2 on my system. After exporting to InCopy, these files are becoming unstable. Could having InCopy2 not 3 still on my system be causing files to crash after being exported to InCopy? thanks in advance sandy

when the editor is opening the .indd file w/IC2 his system is crashing (locking up, closing app) not yet sure what workaround he did to get things to work. on my when I open .indd file in cs3, after editor has made changes to file, before any text links are updated. I think it was an exception x0000?? error. file wouldn't open & cs3 crashed, closed, locked. restarted tried again 2x, & got text links updated & saved.

Thanks for your advice Bob. We (30+) were upgraded to IDCS3,(not InCopy3)in April with Vista upgrade coming soon. s

Your workflow is questionable at best. CS2 and CS3 are hardly compatible and the text engines are different. At this point my recommendation is to have you both upgrade to CS4 unless you can find a copy of InCopy CS3 still available. Bob
