For your information: In Scientific WorkPlace (PC), you can typeset complex technical documents with LaTeX, the industry standard for mathematics typesetting. Because of its superior precision and quality, publishers and writers of scientific material use LaTeX extensively. When you typeset, LaTeX automatically generates footnotes, indexes, bibliographies, tables of contents, and cross-references. The writers of scientific material send me their LaTex/SWP documents to layout their book. InDesign can not place/import these documents. When these documents are exported to Word the Mathamatical formulas will turn into many in-line .eps (RGB) pictures. These pictures need to be updated in illustrator and placed back in InDesign. It would be great if InDesign would have a built-in algebra engine and the possibility to place LaTex / Scientific WorkPlace documents with mathematical formulas. A mathematical font set will also be needed.
