Hard to say from without seeing anything. Never had that kind of problem. Drop shadows on PSD files means you have transparency
so you have 3 places to look:

1: Colour management want it or not. If your colour settings are the same in InDesign as in Photoshop, it renders the same result (same engine). The PSD files can be any colour space (we work in RGB, which means we don't need to finalise paper stock) the gradient can be any spacebut if it is a spot colour then you need to set the appropriate in inkmanager (convert to CMYK if you don't intend to print it as a spot colour). You're printing an 8 colour Mitsubishi, now is that 8 colours you use? If so DON'T rename spot colours until after they are ripped. Transparency effects are produced using advanced overprints and masks which are lost during colour remapping.

2: Transparency flattener. What are your settings should be set to high (100% vectors)
3: You may have a spotcolour in the blend that is converted to cmyk in the RIP.
