Wow - I just sniffed the whole thread at once and found many suggestions to put my vote on. I hope that the adobe-team has a look upon this qualified thread.

My additional comments:

1. I'm disappointed not to find the ability to mix defined spot-colors in ID2. Many years I was in daily struggle in PM with newspaper-projects using spot-colors, and it continues with ID to explain to the printer-man that this week the magenta-film has to print not as magenta but Pantone-xx...

2. Someone wanted "ID-Tools" or something similar. Me too! I cannot understand why this fine product from extensis is discontinued.

3. I wonder with some colleagues in this board that much many items from PageMaker are not implemented in ID. I believe the adobe-team concentrated their view more an Xpress than on their own product PM. I hope that in an id2.5 or 3.0 more of the originate PM-features can be found.

4. concerning textimport from word: as my workarround so avoid silly style-import etc. years ago I created a macro which follows my work with PM like a brave dog: Clicking in word on my special macro-button all styles, all character-styles, all bolds and italics are removed, and the only-paragraph in the document is "standard". No boring imported word-styles, no surprizes, only plain text.

As poor word is to be imported concerning its styles, so genious and comfortable is its dictionary-function...
