The Web Pallette is not what to use for a hyperlink.
Create an item like a square. In the States pallette, add a Down state and click on the Edit State Script. In the Script Editor window that pops up, enter 'getURL("http://www.adobe.com", _blank)'. Preview the composition. When you click on your item, you will go to that URL.
Good luck,
Brian
