The installer always slows while copying Bitmap Edge Fixer.js for me, at which point it pauses for a few seconds, then starts "Searching" the various partitions on the drive. Then after the searching and installing a couple hundred more files it finally fails while installing the file "Photoshop6MojiKumi" with this message:

"Error creating file. 1008:5,-5000 Access denied error."

Last year I used Disk Studio to create 3 partitions on my internal hard disk. I recently went through the process of verifying and repairing them all with Disk Utility when I the LM 2.0 installer started failing, so they are healthy, but the installer still fails.

I've seen a few posts on other sites for installers that throw this error, where the software company says it has to do with file permissions, naturally, but my permissions are now set to allow read/write access for "Everyone" so that shouldn't be an issue.
