I'm trying to get a photo to appear by sections...a square at a time until it appears with a grid over it (Mondrian-style). 

What I have is a bunch of white squares laid over the photo and grouped. Then I grouped the photo and the white squares group, with the white squares group on top and "Top Object Is Mask" is chosen. 

It looks FANTASTIC in LiveMotion. However, when I export it, it shows a bunch of white squares appearing over the photo. 

Any suggestions on how I can achieve the same effect?
