LM1 and LM2 do not support QuickTime and SWF import, however...

Not sure what version of After Effects you are running. But I have imported QT movies and then exported to SWF. You can then use a loadMovie to bring the SWF file into your LiveMotion Movie.

Now, with LM1, you wont really have any way to control the movie, and as well, you wont be able to preload the movie.

LM1 is very limited as it does not support any type of real scripting.

Now, if you had LM2, and After Effects 5.5. You would take your QT movies and export to AMX. Then open your AMX files in LiveMotion, and have a Video, and an Audio Layer / Object that you can control, tweak, preload, WHAT EVER!

For your second question, several have had problems with font shifting when opening LM1 files into LM2. That is because LM2 is now using the Photoshop Text Engine, so text is now a little different.

To fix any text shifting issues, simply select the text or block of text, change the font size, then change it back. That will fix your font issues.

Some others have reported issues with Behaviors being converted over to ActionScripts correctly. I have not seen many of these posts, and I myself have never had a problem with opening any of my LM1 files. I actually converted many over to LM2 with little to know issues.

The biggest issue I think you will see is the Text Shifting, and maybe some Object Shifting.

 Hope this helps some...

 Jon Thompson
