importing a photoshop layer

When I drag and drop a layer into LM, I get a white background in LM. There is no background in Photoshop, just a logo. Any advice? SH

It is better to Place the psd file by using Command-I then go to Object, scroll down to Convert to and chose Objects. Delete the white background and there you go. Happy, happy.
