I've created a duotone in PS using 541 Blue and Black. When I bring it into Pagemaker it will print the Blue plate, but it doesn't show up on the Black, -- all of the black text shows up fine . I've printed duotones out of Illustrator and Quark just fine but PM doesn't want to work for me. Any secrets I'm missing? Geoff

You need to save a duotone as DSC2 which is a flavor of EPS file.

I don't remember doing that, but it's been a long time. Bob

DCS2.0 binary encoding and tiff preview. Composite color preview or something like that, it's been too long Jay

I remember needing that for spot channels, but duotone? Oh well, way too long ago to remember. Thankfully all I need to remember now is PSD or PDF. Bob

Bob's right that was for multichannel. I hate most duotones, so I rarely used them. Jay

Sounds like it's a 16 bit image. Change it to 8 bit. Bob

There's this in the FAQs: Donald Gruener, "3.10 - Duotones & Multi-Channel Images" #1, 14 Nov 2002 12:07 pm </cgi-bin/webx?14@@.1de69a12/0> Some of it is obsolete (you can probably ignore the screen angle issue with any modern RIP), but I just did a quick test with Photoshop CS2 and PM7 and it separated correctly on our RIP. -Bill
