how do i add fonts to this file. can i drag and drop fonts from the windows font file or is there some arcane incantation that needs to be used? i'm stumped!

You don't, and you don't need to.  Adobe applications which use this
file build it automatically when they scan a font directory.

What is the specific problem you are having?
