Sorry about my previous reply - I was getting confused with "Print" and "Save". It's part my age and part not using PM every day any more. It's to do with the fact that PM handles PS and PCL printers differently.

Here's my local home setup printing to an LJ2300DN on a TCP/IP port via router (no server).

In PCL mode, the button reads "Setup".

In PS mode, the button reads "Paper".

Any settings for the PS printer (e.g. duplexing) are then set from the "Features" button with all the parameters being read from the PPD.

For a PS printer, you need to have the correct PPD installed in the folder "C:\Program Files\Adobe\PageMaker 7.0\RSRC\UKENGLSH\PPD4" or the equivalent on your PC.

The trouble is, fewer and fewer printers these days have their own PPDs, and PM is probably unique in demanding the PPD files are saved in one of its own sub-directories.

HTH.
