Can't cut from Word 7 and paste to PM 6.5

I have always been able to cut and paste text into PM 6.5 from Word, until I upgraded to Word 7. PM does not recognize the character set. I have tried saving the Word file as rtf, but no dice. I can cut and paste into an open .txt file, and proceed from there, but this is cumbersome.

Error "cannot retrieve clipboard data".

Anyone else have this? I plan to upgrade to newest Adobe suite in a month, anyone know if that will resolve?
