I had started looking at adobe products as a way to do this and was beginning to get the impression I could use various adobe products for the whole thing.

It looks like ADBC or Indesign-datamerge can get at the data, then I needed to find an adobe product to create the brochure using templates and allow the layout changes/formatting. Then create the pdf per above...

However, I can't seem to work out what adobe product(s) to use. So unless I can work this out, I may end up sticking with MS publisher catalog merge and acrobat 6 standard to write the pdf.
