I initially posted a question in the Acrobat forum and received some helpful replies; but I think that the issue has now turned into a PDF workflow issue, though I might be wrong. The problem is simple: When I enable comments in a PDF file using Acrobat 7.0Pro MiddleEastern edition, it appears that only users with Adobe Reader Middle Eastern version have commenting enabled, even though there are no MiddleEastern features or fonts used in the file. Regular flavours of Adobe Reader give the following error message when opening the document: "This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created [not true!] and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document." The document then proceeds to open normally, but without commenting enabled. Well, I am the author and I have no solution. Any suggestions would be very welcome, even if just to tell me where I might turn for an answer. Thank you, Ariel
