We have QuarkXpress documents with single text frames as table columns. Each row has a colored line of 9pt in background, defined in the style sheets. Not each row contains text, but always the colored line.
The documents are printed as PostScript files and converted to PDF by a workflow system.

If the PDF is produced by a program that uses the Adobe PDF Library, the line thickness and line height isn�t equal at rows without text. The line thickness is 9pt and the line height 19pt.

The difference of 10pt is equal to the line spacing defined in the style sheets.

At rows containing text the line thickness is equal to the line height � 9pt.

The problem doesn�t appear if the PDF is produced by the QuarkXpress export (Jaws) or GhostScript.

Furthermore the difference between line thickness and line height is only detectable with Enfocus PitStop Professional 7 and PDF CanOpener � not visible.

There is no change using different versions of QuarkXPress (5�7), Distiller (5�7), PDF (1.2�1.6) and Joboptions.
