Panels don't feel as 'solid' as they once were. I don't like in CS4 that when you drag a panel it becomes semi transparent, that's just not intuitive and its distracting. I also find that the highlighting while moving the cursor over icons or panels is an unnecessary distraction. I also think when resizing panels is sometimes its very difficult to position the cursor in the right place, the 'contact area' is just far too small, making it a tricky and time consuming thing

I'd still like to be able to turn off any GUI transparency manually and separately. I don't like the icons at all and never use the icon view, the same way I should be able to turn off any useless highlighting and transparencies you mentioned, that bear no additional information and nothing but cluttering iPodish styling that should be used to sell the app to idiots at a store but avoidable if you actually work with the app all day. I too liked CS2 the best but my main point about the stupid Screen Mode of CS3 was not that it existed, it was that I couldn't turn it off via the Keyboard Shortcuts Menu and Configurator has only gotten us a bit closer to this necessary level of customizability. If Adobe gave us more freedom, we could solve these problems without even bothering them. I could simply give the Tilde Shortcuts and additional Shortcut and wouldn't have any problems although not having a Tilde key, like so many other non-US-keyboard users do. Instead they give us two predefined shortcuts and a configurator that can take the entire app into pieces.

"I couldn't turn it off via the Keyboard Shortcuts Menu" - I agree extending custom keyboard shortcuts to UI functions would be useful.

Nothing against that as long as it's not a must.

I think maybe you missed my sarcasm there.

No I got it. I just want to stress that my aim is not to ruin the fun of mirrored docks and transparent panels that some people seem to have. I understand that fancy useless features may reach additional costumers. Just want it to be an option because after all it's completely useless.

I really don't like the new panels. They detach too easily. I'm always pulling one away by mistake. I also dislike the fact that you can't make some of the panels smaller to show just half of them. (Like the Info panel.) In CS4 they're either open or closed. Which is a shame because many panels take up too much room. And the "hotspot" to select the panels that do stretch is too small and hard to click on.

Second that.
