Hi Peter,

if you are using ImageMagick, you may try the option
'-scale' instead of '-geometry'.

Converting bitmaps into a lower resolution?
The conversion from 2000x1000 -> 50x50 changes
the proportion of your image.

On-topic: You may wrap the images into PostScript
and use the 'scale'-operator :-)
