Ron,
its always recommended to install the full PostScript workflow.
But this doesnt guarantee correct colors unless the printer is
calibrated.
a) calibrate monitor
b) create images and vector graphics for a desktop printer or
a large format printer in RGB
c) print test pages
d) calibrate printer by instruments and appropriate programs
(expensive and time consuming)
e) if it doesnt work satisfying with HP software then you will need
a RIP (raster image processor, a special driver program)
If you are not interested in very accurate colors, then you may
try to find adjustment tools for the three channels (functions
Cout = F(Cin) where C is R,G,B . In Photoshop "Curves", generally
Gradation Functions.
Hope this helps a little.
Best regards --Gernot
