I've implemented composite fonts a couple times recently and I've come across an error that doesn't seem to have a specific cause.

The fonts in my composite are Times-Roman, Times-Bold, and Times-Italic. The error I am having is that when I try to print my postscript file, the escape character /377, which I use to select fonts within the composite, gets read as an ISO-Latin character "", and it errors out on a stringwidth call. But I have not selected the ISO-Latin charcter set. And since it confuses the character it does not know what to do with the following byte, and does not switch fonts and so on.
Has anyone experienced this before, and, as such, is there some advice on how to solve this error?
